1920s - 1960s

The First 40 Years

  • 1920s - Everson Electric founded by Walter Everson
  • 1930s - Everson Electric becomes a wholesale supplier of electrical apparatus
  • 1940s - Everson Electric manufactures electro-mechanical components during World War II for the US Navy and begins repairs of motors for mass transit authorities
  • 1950s - Manufacture of stator coils for the power industry
  • 1960s - Manufacture of dipole magnets used in splitting the atom

1970s

Navy & Nuclear Submarines; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

  • Water booster pump stator coils for Navy nuclear submarines
  • Manufacture of some of the first coils used for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Development of new insulating taping, laminate, and resin systems to provide more reliable DC traction motors

1980s

Advancements in Cancer Treatment and Large-Scale Motor Production

  • Manufacture of magnets for Proton Beam Therapy, used at Loma Linda University Medical Center to eradicate cancerous tumors with a proton beam
  • First large-scale production of AC and DC traction motors
  • Manufacture of experimental, water-cooled generator stator windings for utilities

1990s

Advancements in Mass Transit, Superconducting Magnets, and Nuclear Research

  • Manufacture and design of superconducting magnets and systems
  • AC and DC motor production for SEPTA, MARTA, New Jersey Transit, Washington Metro, LA Metro, Baltimore and others
  • Large-scale production of superconducting magnets for Brookhaven's Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider
  • Development of poloidal superconducting cable-in-conduit coil for the Tokamak Physics Experiment and the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) for fusion research
  • Construction of a 64'0" diameter coil using cable-in-conduit technology for the Gamma Electron Muon Detector
  • Manufacture of magnets for the semiconductor processing/plasma handling equipment
  • Manufacture of the 60 Tesla High Phase Magnet for Los Alamos Laboratory and Florida State
  • Design and development of superconducting magnet systems and cryo-free superconducting magnet systems for commercial and laboratory use

2000s

Everson Tesla at the Turn of the Millennium

  • In 2003, Everson Tesla Incorporated is formed as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tesla Engineering, LTD, UK
  • Present Manufacture of AC traction motors for Phoenix, Seattle, LA Metro, SEPTA, and Denver Light Rail Systems
  • Manufacture of key components for the US Navy's EMALS and AAG programs
  • Collaborated with several National Labs for the design and manufacture of Dipole and Quadrapole Corrector magnet systems
  • Partnered with several key OEM's to design and manufacture superconducting and resistive magnetic systems for use in MRI and Proton Beam Therapy devices as well as semi-conductor processing
