COPY EXACT SUPPLER REQUIREMENTS

What is Copy Exact?

1. Copy Exact is method of change control that provides the capability to define and maintain the customer reference configurations and controls changes with prior notice and customer authorization.

2. Copy Exact is different than "conformance to specifications" Quality compliance.

3. Copy Exact (CE!) equates to "Change with Control"

Copy Exact Interchangeability Policy :

1. A released bill of material under full Engineering Change (EC) control that accurately represents the tool configuration and set-up that has been qualified and approved by the customer.

2. Once a customer defines the reference configuration for purchased equipment, the EC process must prevent changes that impact physical, or functional interchangeability of parts for that configuration without prior customer notice and approval.

3. The Copy Exact Policy forbids Everson Tesla or it's suppliers from making an uncontrolled and/or undocumented change to the parts in a system configuration (hardware, firmware or software) without prior customer approval.

The Bottom Line...

Interchangeability is a condition that permits the direct interchange or substitution of a part for another without modification or selection of the part. This is also known as forward and backward compatibility. Upon interchange of parts, the same physical and functional characteristics of the original parts are assured. If the parts cannot be mixed in the inventory, they are NOT interchangeable. If interchangeability cannot be maintained as a result of a part revision, a new part number shall be created to reflect the change.

Copy Exact does NOT mean that change is not permissible. Change with CONTROL is the goal, with data to support that the change offers an acceptable level of Return on Investment (ROI), with no risk or impact to processes or products. Therefore, changes must be fully documented and forecasted to Applied Materials, and to Applied Materials customers. In the case of OEM or out-sourced assemblies, it is expected that a supplier will manage part interchangeability consistent with the Copy Exact Interchangeability Policy.
